Summer tourism and 110-degree daytime temperatures have increased stress-related calls to local hotlines by 18 percent compared with last year, according to Clark County data. Many workers on the Strip and in hospitality report sleep disruption and anxiety tied to irregular shifts and high customer volume.
The Mental Health Center of Southern Nevada at 6161 W Charleston Blvd provides free intake assessments every weekday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for adults and teens. Walk-ins receive same-day screening and can schedule up to eight therapy sessions at no charge. A second site, the HELP of Southern Nevada clinic at 1640 E Flamingo Rd, offers free group stress-management classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., along with individual case management for those facing housing or job pressure.
Both centers accept residents of any zip code inside Clark County and require only a government-issued photo ID. Spanish-language counselors are available at the Charleston location on Mondays and Wednesdays.
The Nevada 211 system logged 4,872 mental-health referrals in Clark County during the first half of 2026. Callers who dial 211 from any Las Vegas phone reach a live operator who can schedule same-week appointments at either center or connect them to the 24-hour Crisis Support Services line at 702-333-HELP. For those near the university, the UNLV Student Wellness Center at 4505 S Maryland Pkwy also runs free drop-in hours for non-students on Friday afternoons through August.
Anyone experiencing acute distress can text HOME to 741741 from the Las Vegas area to reach a trained counselor within minutes. Residents should confirm current hours by phone before traveling, as schedules can shift during extreme heat advisories.
